The service was friendly and prompt. Steak was excellent flavor but was slightly overdone. The veal was great but the portion was smaller than expected for the price. It was a surprise that they added a 20% gratuity to our party of six. Timing on apps and main entree's worked well. Could use a side dish with the entree. Pricey when all is considered but worth a try when in town.

The main reason for a low rating was for horrible service by our waitress. I'm not sure if they were short staffed the evening my wife and I were there, but we were definitely an afterthought of our waitress. It took 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive, we were not checked on once and the waitress interrupted our ordering to say she had to go get something. She was pretty bad...at one point I said, let's pay for our drinks and leave. I am usually pretty forgiving and understanding given that it is a tough profession, but this was one of the worst I have experienced. On the upside the food is pretty good. The prices are a little bit high for what you get, but we thought the food tasted good and came out to our liking. For billing themselves as a fine dining restaurant, our experience definitely did not meet this description and we will avoid future visits.

Ate lunch at 1812 and was terribly disappointed with the quality of food. Walleye prepared was with little or no seasoning/flavor. Tartar sauce was bland at best. Their choice of condiments, such as catsup was of poor flavor and quality. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Great service, great food, would definitely recommend. They were very accommodating for a large party, even though we got there early on a Saturday night that they were very busy.

Overpriced for quality and quantity of food offered, drinks overpriced for sub prime liquor in tiny glasses. It appears their menu and prices are attempting to present something that the food just doesn't support. Service was acceptable and atmosphere was nice. Expect dinner and a couple drinks for 2 to run approx. $150 and food/drinks comparable to whats found at many restaurants for 1/3 the price. There are many excellent restaurants in this price range, skip this one.

My family ordered three different meals, and everyone was happy with their selection. I had the 1812 Chicken. I am often not a big fan of sauces, but this was perfect for the chicken. I also loved their "Duchess Potatoes." The serving sizes didn't leave room for dessert, but we enjoyed our meal.

We decided to try this place because it looked fairly new and was right next to our place. The service we received was great and the waitress was very attentive. However, the food was not very tasteful. I did love my salad but that was about it. I would highly recommend NOT ordering dessert from here!!! The cake was very dry and bland.

We are locals and decided to stop in to support local business. We were there just before dinner and had the place to ourselves for a while. Service was good and the bread was great. The entrees were very good. Make sure you order their version of the twice baked potato. I had the half rack of ribs and my wife had the chicken parm. We believe the meals were expensive since the check came in at (literally) just under $50. Believe me, there are items on the menu that far exceeded our $19 entrees. Now $50 is not bad if you are expecting it but we were not necessarily looking to spend that for our casual meal. We stayed though and ordered reasonably priced fare. Based on pricing alone our visits will be few and far between.

Small menu but food is well done. Perch was lightly breaded and cook to perfection The fresh cut potatoes were cut into chips and very tasty.

Fabulous dinner with family and friends. I had the lobster dainties and several of our guests had a chicken francaise that was out of this world. We had attentive service from Dot and the chef made an a la carte pasta dish for my mom that she loved. My Dad had the lamb chops which were grilled to perfection and we were treated top notch under GM Kevin's exemplary service. 1812 is a Port Clinton jewel

One of our favorites! Great food and very nice atmosphere to go along! Kevin, the GM of both 1812 and Rosie's Bar and Grill (the kitchen cooks a menu of food for both) basically lives there making sure everyone is happy. Try the smoked briscut with Gouda or the ribeye with Alaskan topping! You will not be sorry!
